Getting Older.....
We have a saying in German:
'getting older does not taste like honey'!
I have always wondered about that. Sure, as the body grows older in years, little aches and pains seem to become more steady companions. But the more we respect our bodies as our friend and, the more we respect its needs, the less ache and pain will visit us....we know that! So what then 'does not taste like honey'?
What are the most important issues for our elderly?
What the most stressed points, when we talk about becoming old?
'I want to stay in my home!'
'I want to die at home!'
Thinking about these points, what would we want?
Right!
Home health care has never been a question in the earlier days, it was something normal within a family and provided by the members of that very family. Nowadays with all the retirement homes and care facilities it has become something out of the norm.
But it can be done!
With a good team of care-givers, that is devoted to the people in their care we should be able to build that bridge, that makes it easy to go from here to there.....
We can build that bridge!
